Burning CD's

I have just recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows
XP home addition. I now cannot burn CD's using Windows
Media player or another CD Burner program that I
installed. What I get is a message saying that Windows
cannot write to the recordable disc. and gives
suggestions all of which I have tried with negative
results. Can anyone help?

Bluntly, the inbuilt burning works well enough as a basic method on many
drives, but there are too many for which it just will not work at all,
and it sounds as if you have one of them. The only realistic advice is
to get one of the third party packages (like the one you used in ME, but
in an XP compatible version)
