I doubt that you are "unaware" of the term. I find it applies all too
frequently in dealing with computer hardware.

Flakey means unstable, fickle, bad, problematic, etc. I know I'm in the
ball park of being right. I went out a bought a new burner a few hours ago,
and I just got it installed. It is kind of going against what I said, but I
bought a Memorex, which looks just like a Lite On. (I bet that it is even
made by Lite On) It's beige, but I put a black plate in front of it that my
case supplied me, so the beige doesn't make the case look bad. I haven't
tested it out yet, but XP and Easy CD Creator detected supposedly.

I burned a CD with it using Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum... It burns at the
advertised 52x! In fact, it even went above it at times. (53x) Great so
far.

Well I'm glad it's all better then. By the way I didn't need the definition
for "flakey"
I may like to have a little fun sometimes in here but I got me sum smarts.
:)

I didn't need to update to get my new MEMOREX burner to work. I have like
5.3.something. I updated to this version even though that my old burner
only needed 5.1.something to run because then you get the smartburn and the
jewel case creator works a little better as far as printing is concerned.
