burn music cd?

Desperately need to find out:
What is the exact "physical" location of the CD-RW drive?
On my modem?/brain/etc.,.....Is it the top opening which is the only opening
that accepts a "music CD"?
or is it an external device I need to purchase?
Same problem as mom50.....I'm ready to burn and it says "NO CD in Drive"
I insert a blank (never recorded on) CD
and continue to get the "NO CD in Drive or NO CD Detectable?"
Am ready to really get upset.

Go to "My Computer" and look at devices with removable storage. If it says
CD-RW you can write on it. Older computers may only have a CD drive (no RW).
