Burn an ISO

C

Chris Miller

I've got a 701MB ISO file that I need to burn. My CD is rated for 700MB. I'd
like to overburn the last bit, and I think it'll fit. When I go into Nero
and burn the image, it keeps telling me to insert media that the image will
fit on. Can I not tell it just to burn it anyway and see if it overburns
okay? What about the built in burning crap with Windows XP? Can I use it to
burn an ISO?

You can tell Nero to do overbrun's. It in the opitions. Also make sure
your burning it as an image and not just burning the ISO to a CD.

No, you can't burn an ISO with the Windows XP CD Burning software

In Nero, File->Settings->Advanced settings tab, check 'allow overburning
with "disk-at-once"'

Chris, I thought that an .ISO file was an image file. Would appreciate any
clarification for a newbie, Sam.

Sorry for jumping in here, but I think Chris meant to be careful not to merely
copy an .ISO file to CD. I've done that a couple of times when I wasn't paying
attention to what I was doing. With Nero, if you go to Recorder and select Burn
Image... and then browse to your .ISO file from there, you should be OK.

Nero in its File - Preferences - Expert Features select 'Enable
Overburn' - leave it on the default 82 mins and Apply.

Then use the 'Burn Image' and make sure that at the Burn stage you
select 'Disk at Once' - Overburn will *not* work on Track at once

Shouldn't that be
File > burn image... ?
