Bullets and Hyphens

How do you maintain bullet when you type new sentences without it changing
into a hyphen in the next line if you press tab?

How do you maintain hyphen (in the line below the bullet sentence) in the
next bullet sentence below it without it changing into a bullet?

How do you maintain bullets and hyphens without it disappearing or going
into a difference tab margin ?

How do you maintain it to be consistent throughout the presentation?

Let's say I have three bulleted headings and have a couple of hyphen lines
below it - I need to maintain this format but it won't let me (see example
below) - the bullets will disappear or the hyphen will disappear and it will
keep going to a tabbed margin and not back to the start margin - in the end I
had to manually type hyphens and bullets and it is not consistent throughout
the presentation. Please help - I hope that I am making sense.

bullet Sentence 1
- blah blah blah
- blah blah blah

bullet Sentence 2
- blah blah blah
- blah blah blah

bullet Sentence 3
- blah blah blah
- blah blah blah

sorry - can't do the actual dot for the bullet in this box to type my query

Hi,

As far as I understood from your problem, you want a common place so that
you can change the format of the texts inside placeholders. If thats the
case, I guess you can just go to Master and change the format or change the
bullet type in the text there.
If its PPT2003,
View->Master->SlideMaster
You will see the format of text for each intent level. Just change the
bullet type or font according to your need and it will reflect in all slides.
If you using other versions, let me know I can give you similar step for
those.

If I understood your problem in a wrong way, I am sorry about that and you
can discribe once again.

Thank you Vindys,

I should have mentioned I'm using 2007, but I tried what you suggested and I
understand how to solve it - just hope it works for me!

If you've already applied "manual" formatting to the text in the
placeholders (where it says "click to add text"), then you may need to
reapply the slide layout in order to see the slide master/slide layout
formatting show up. To do that, go to the Home tab and hit the Reset button
in the Slides group.
