Building my own Music Composition PC

Hi,

I wish to build a new PC for composition and audio processing. I plan
on installing WinXP and Linux(DeMuDi) on this machine. The following
is a list of the items I have chosen for it so far and I'm hoping you
can offer me advice regarding my choices. I plan on running the
machine with only one fan - the PSU fan, but I will also buy 2 fans,
one for the case and one for the ninja - if needed. I've also chosen
items which I hope will keep my system quiet. What do you think of the
choices I have made?

Also, what about the idea of have more the one Harddrive? Besides
backing up data, what are the advantages? I read the following on a
forum but i don't really understand it-

"You want to really dedicate hard drives to one purpose, your system
drive will deal with the OS and the apps, another can then deal with
recording and playback of audio. Due to the way that the data is
needed this increase speed/track count. ideally I would go for 1
system drive (80gb) 1 audio drive (160gb) 2 sample drives in a raid 0
(2x160gb)."

Can anyone advice me on this issue, but for I set about ordering what
I need?

Tack very much for your help,

/Barry

If you want performance then you can configure two identical drives in
RAID-0. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID0#RAID_0.

For better data integrity use RAID 1:
