Build number

Can someone explain to me how the build number is incremented in
vs.net? When is this incremented? I am using assemblyinfo.cs to update
my versions manually with 1.1.*, letting the build and revision be
handled by the compiler.

Asterisk sign instructs Visual Studio to assign on each build a version
1.0.d.s, where d is the number of days since February 1, 2000, and s is the
number of seconds since midnight/2.
