Hello Craig,

Same here, if you want it again to work, do this:

Click on Start>configuration>software>MSAspyware
than Click on information, there you have a repair option and if you use
that its on again.

Thanks Craig

Im sure Microsoft will find that very usefull as like you
say once its deactivated it will not re-enable

The only way round it that i can see it to close MS
Antispy by right clicking MS in the system tray then go
to control panel then to add/remove programs

Click Microsoft Antispy then press 'change' then when MS
Antispyware maintenance wizard opens press next then
choose to update Microsoft Antispy then press next again
then press 'install'

When its finished it will open MS Antispy and the real
time protection check points will all be activated again.

Thanks for reporting this im sure MS would want to fix
this as soon as possible because its frustrating it will
not let you re-activate them and could cause problems for
people who do not reset the program using the add/remove
screen

Hi Tom ,

Your way of resetting sound alot faster but im not sure
if i have the configuration menu you describe, I have XP
Home Edition, is this the same as you ? I can goto
Start>All Programs>MSAntispy but there isnt a repair
option only 'Help' 'MSAntispy' 'Uninstall' or 'Update'

Maybe its just me being slow i was working a night shift
last night and have been up all day(Its 6pm here UK )so
im abit tired now, let me know if im missing something
obvious though Tom

Thanks

Andy

I went to Control Panel- did a repair and all
checkpoints came back as active. It does seem to be a
common bug though. I'm running XP Pro

Hello Cammac,

did you have the same with "Script blocking"?

I think this is a language issue, and that you are talking about the same
method.

In terms of the original problem, this is indeed a bug, but i don't think it
will be fixed before beta2.

Hello Bill,

no I was not specific unough!

Start/config/software/MS Antispyware,
then if you click on "information" (dont now the right name) there is a
repair function!
I had contact with Andy on MSN and it is there on his XP home also.
It works quick and easy!

Terrific--yes. This is what I call an "update" install--it's there in any
Microsoft Antispyware install.

In English-language versions of XP, that should read:

Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs/Microsoft Antispyware

then click on "Change"

simple way to activate

Instead of clicking on one of the three agent names (Internet Agents, System Agents, Application Agents), simply hover the cursor over the agent name, and a blue dialog box will appear. There will be an Activate link that does work in this blue dialog box.
