Bug HP Photosmart Vista

Yes, I found a bug in the way that HP Photosmart print drivers interact with
Vista. The screen where there should be a "preference" button is lacking that
option. Therefore, you can not choose the photo tray to print pictures.

I can only print pictures if I use a chip in the printer, not from the computer.

After two weeks of going round and round with HP, they have finally admitted
there is a bug:

"Nancy, as you mentioned this is an issue with the compatibility between
HP and Windows Vista Operating System. This issue is forwarded to the
R&D department and is under research and we will get back to you as soon
as the resolution is found."

Just and FYI and heads up! :)

My PS 8250 printer (8200 series) has a Printing Preferences button and it brings
up a multi-tabbed set of screens.

What model PS printer are you referring to? Are you using driver built into
VISTA or one you have downloaded from the HP website?

I'm using a 3200 series (3210). I get tabs. but no printing preferences. I
sent them a screen print twice. They finally looked at it. ;)

ROFLMAO I've installed and uninstalled the drive so much, the current driver is
corrupt and I have to uninstall and reinstall again. I've been using the HP web
site. I've been talking to tech support almost every day for two weeks.
