Bug: Host file change information erronous

N

Niklas E

When I altered my hosts file, it was detected by the
AntiSpyWare, but the information detected was wrong. I
have changed my hosts file 5 times today as well and it
has only warned me once. They other 4 times went through?
Seems a bit buggy.

This is what it told me:
------------
Microsoft AntiSpyware has detected a change to your
Window's host file. Your host file is used to perform
domain name to IP address translation for web sites.

Host: ADCSWEDEN
IP Address: .247.63.66

Advise: If you have not manually made a change to your
hosts file, you should block this

------------

This is the actual IP: 145.247.63.66.

I don't know if the program cannot handle more than one
host per ip. You can have more host names after the ip if
you separate them with space or tab. I have that in my
case.

Niklas,

If I understand this correctly, I believe that this is expected behavior.
As long as you have allowed a particular hostname AntiSpyware will show
future updates with the same hostname as allowed change. If you change the
ip and host name, then the alert will pop-up again asking if the change was
expected. Is this what you are referring to? Let me know if this is not the
issue or believe it should behave differently.
