The problem according to HP Tech is incompatible software programs. Nero 7 is
not compatible with my HP built in software. I've been advised by Nero to
clean out the built in software drivers (disable) for the CD writer/burner
and run a registry check to remove references to those drivers. I have yet to
perform this technique as I don't know the implications to the rest of my
system? Any feedback will be appreciated.

All that said, I followed their instructions and the Nero ran without a
buffer overrun(Microsoft Visual C++ buuffer overrun). Problem is I opened my
musicmatch jukebox to play a CD and two things occurred--1)Musicmatch could
not recognize that DVD/Cd drive existed..?so no CD player anymore with that
software 2) I immediately got a buffer overrun in microsoft visual c++ except
now it said the problem was with the musicmatch software instead of the
NERO??? So buffer Overrun has not gone away although I have only seen it once
since I did this yesterday Jan 6, 2007 when I wanted to listen to a CD. I am
disappointed in these results. I would like to have both MMjukebox play and
rip CD's and use the Nero Burning Rom for the CD Text feature...? Any
ideas--anyone...
