Could anyone help me by letting me know of ways to remove
a buffer overrun from my computer,

It appears as follows:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
A buffer overrun has been detected.

it closes the browser page and i have tried through the
windows updates for a patch to repair it but nothing has
worked so far.

would be thankful of any suggestions you may have to
remove this problem

Does this always happen on the same site?

I had the same problem, downloaded every fix I found,nothing worked. So I started by turning off everything. To make a 3 day job short. My problem was I installed a free Popup program,had it in my startup folder. Moved it onto my desktop. Problem solved. Uninstalled the sucker, haven't had a problem since.
