buffer overrun

Hello, im having an error message pop up when i try to open anything windows
related,ie,outlook, everything. it says "Buffer overrun detected! Program
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe". any help on the matter would be great, thanks
 
Run a virus\spyware check ASAP This must be the 10th one I have seen
tonight.
