BSOD Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area

While on the Internet I received the BSOD with the message Win32k.sys
Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area. I know there were more codes but I did not
write them down. After shutting down and rebooting the BSOD immediately
displays the message Stop: c0000218 (Registry File Failure) so I can't even
recreate the origial BSOD message. Will not boot up in Safe Mode, Last Known
Configuration, or Safe Mode with C prompt.
No new hardware has been added to the system in over a year. The only
software change was to let my personal McAfee anti-virus expire and I've
installed the Comcast free version of McAfee about 10 days ago with no
problem until today. Appeared system was running slower with the Comcast
version of McAfee but at least I could get on the Internet until today. Any
help would be appreciated.
