BSOD IRQL... and Bad_Pool_Header

C

Chris Stanley

I have a major problem. I have had problems in the past trying to burn
Cd's and DVD's. I had the same problems with a previous CD Writer on
the same PC and with my current DVD Writer on the PC. When I go to
burn a CD or DVD just as it starts writing I will get BSOD. The first
message was the IRQL_NOT_LESS_or_Equal and so I was trying to get rid
of that one and I updated my firmware on the DVD Drive, Video Drivers,
ran Mem Tests, ran CPU Tests and all that done fine. So I tried again
and now I get BSOD with BAD_POOL_HEADER. First thing I want to know
is, am I gaining ground or losing ground. And secondly how do I fix
this.

Thanks

Chris

On certain motherboards that have a single memory module installed,
moving the module to DIMM #2 slot may make the bad pool header go away.
I found this to be true on MSI mainboard running a single DDR module.
