BSOD in Vista Home Premium SP1

Hi,

I have a problem with Home Premium SP1. The problem started after installing
SP1. Almost every day in the morning when I get into the office, my computer
has crashed with a BSOD and sitting at the boot password.

I deployed the MS-Debugging Tool Kit and after reading the Minidump file, it
will point me to USBHUB.SYS ! Doing some research on the MS web site, I
found several articles describing this exact problem, but it should have
been fixed in SP1 ! Also, if I try to download and "single" install the
patch, it tells me that "it does not apply to my system" !

Something is wrong with the "usbhub.sys" as it causes a BSOD almost every
day. Does anyone know a fix for that ? What can I do ? I have used the exact
same system for a few month without SP1 installed and never had this
problem.

Thanks for helping,

JCE

Hi, Mark & philo,

thanks to both of you for your replies.

I tried that. I uninstalled all USB with Device Mgr., restarted, Vista
re-detected all drivers and installed them without a problem. All the
attached USB devices were working properly.

Guess what ????? Just 20 minutes later........ BSOD again !!! I checked
again the "mini033008-01.dmp" file and again, it told me the problem is
caused by " usbhub.sys " !!!

Any other ideas ? How could I get the usbhub.sys driver before SP1 without
re-installing Windows completely ?

Thanks again,

JCE

Hi,

yeah, I guess I have to check back with Sony on a Bios or Motherboard
upgrade. That could be very well the problem.

Thanks again,

JCE
