Everytime I try to install new updates, my computer crashes with a BSOD with
some text on it. The BSOD only stays for a few seconds so I don't know what
it says on it. Any idea what's going on?

What happens after the few seconds? Does the computer restart itself?

If so then go into Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the
Settings button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"Automatically restart" so as to clear it. Then click on Apply and
OK as needed to exit.

That should give you a BSOD that stays on the screen, requiring a
manual power off and restart. If so then the contents of the BSOD,
including the STOP Code, all 4 parameters for it, and any file or
module names mentioned will be a direct clue as to the underlying
cause of the problem. Post that information back here.

Another thing you could try is to right-click on "My Computer" and
select Manage. Expand the Event Viewer category to show the
subcategories and browse through the System and Application categories
looking for red-flagged error records whose date and time stamp
corresponds to your BSOD errors. Double click on an error record to
see the details of that error.

Good luck
