browseui.dll

I installed MSAS during a major malware investation (pretty
nifty piece of software i think) but is asking whether I
want to block Browseui.dll which I know is a part of the MS
browser package. It appears to be a genuine MS file, the
prefs say its V 6.00.2900.2627(xpsp_sp2_gdr.050309-1648)
and it happens after an automatic windows update. I would
think that it would recognize valid MS files so Im
wondering if it could be a spoofed file. Anybody know if
this is normal for MSAS to try to block this file even if
it is valid? I'm a little paranoid at the moment so I
thought I check.
TIA

You might want to look at posting by "Microsoft Spyware Beta NG Server" at

From Bill Sanderson:
Yes - there are issues with Microsoft antispyware and multiple users, and I
believe you are seeing one of them. Worth checking the executables in
question, but I think this is bug rather than malware.

The development team acknowledges these shortcomings in the beta as
distributed thus far. I would expect this to change--or at least have
explicitly described boundaries--by the time the product releases.
