hi,

win xp, after install of sp2, browsers cannot download any web pages...
have tried IE6, Firefox & Netscape...
have done ntsh winsock reset & reset catalog...
also winsockxpfix...

help ???

Hi,
Since all browsers are involved, try disabling third-party security
programs. Turn on the Windows firewall (Control Panel> Windows Firewall) and
disable the third-party firewall (if running.) Disable Internet Security
type programs, anti-virus, ad-blockers, etc. briefly- just to test.

Have you tried a complete shutdown- modem, router, computer for a few
minutes?

Other possibilities at:
870700 - How to troubleshoot problems accessing secure Web pages with IE 6
[XP] SP2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;870700
Can't display- DNS Errors: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/16.html

Hope this helps,

I would try Opera browser also, Since you have a problem with IE and
FireFox, you also have problems with Netscape 8. Netscape 8 uses modules
from IE and Firefox.
