Browser Window Closing

Phil

My company has a pc using Windows XP and Explorer 6.0. It
was recently installed (3 months ago). The browser window
will open briefly then shut down quickly if there is a
home page or web site accessed. The browser will only stay
open if the home page is blank.
This problem may have originated when a commercial rep
installed a home page for his company's support site. The
browser would default to this and only stay open for this
site. If you opened another page, the browser would
briefly show the new page then shut down. I succesfully
removed that company's site but now the browser will only
stay open is the home page is blank.
Does anyone have any exerience/thoughts on this problem?
Thanks.

It could be a Java issue.

....only tick the JIT compiler box and leave the Java boxes un checked

A BHO issues.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
