Browser Service Failed to Retrieve

I have gotten the following message:

The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup
list too many times on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_
{90EB0008-A8FE-4C22-9E52-71A70513C558}. The backup
browser is stopping.

Does anyone kow what this means and what the implications
are. I have recently upgraded XP Home to XP Pro and my
networking nightmares persist.
