Browser locks up when spawning new window

My browser intermitently locks up when spawning a new
window within a site. When this happens,I must end task
and relaunch IE 6. I have tried re-installing IE 6,to no
avail. Extremely irritating.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? And if so, are
you aware fo a solution?

Need to add that I am running Windows 98

I started getting the intermitent message IE has
encountered a problem and must shutdown. I have tried re-
install, repair and manual removal of IE6; but I have not
resolved the issue.
I am currently using fixblast to check for a virus Lets
see if that helps

I am glad to know I'm not the only one. Recently my
Windows 98 IExplorer started doing this and now I can't
even hardly use mine to surf. Last night I uninstalled
and reinstalled and reapplied the update download for
Explorer 6.0. Problem is getting worse instead of
better.
I'm still looking for solution too.

You might try restarting in DOS, then type
scanreg /restore

to restore your registry from a previous day, before this began.
