Browser does not support frames

I am using IE 6 with all the updates. In using Google to find sites , some
of the results state "Your browser does not support frames. We recommend
upgrading..." What are frames? Do I have to change some setting on IE? Does
IE handle frames, whatever they are?

I am using Windows Xp Home with all the latest updates including SP 2. In
the only two of the times I have seen the message I was able to reach and
view the sites.

Interesting. Can you give a url of one or two of the sites that gives
you the message?

So far as I know, IE doesn't give you the option of turning frames off.

Regards.
