Browser closes suddenly when accessing employer's secure webmail

I cleared off some files (by simply deleting the files
and sending them to the recycling bin) that my children
had downloaded (likely unintentionally), including Gator
files, and now cannot seem to access my employer's
webmail site. MY IE (version 6.0) works fine as far as I
can tell on other sites but when I have finished entering
the final password at the webmail site, the browser
simply closes instantly (which it did not previously do --
I could readily access the webmail site). (And it isn't
a problem with the webmail site - I can get to it from
other machines.) I have downloaded all the recent IE
patches. Any thoughts?

Parasite or Java, check it out.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit is with these
tools.

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

Does anyone know why typing in http;//www.facelink.com
with or without a persons facelink page closes my browser >window?

Tools/internet options/advanced/Microsoft VM
....only tick the JIT compiler box and leave the Java boxes un checked
(default)
when running Win 95 IE 5.5, else the browser window closes.
Same thing for IE 6, confirmed.
