browse list

We just upgraded our server from NT4.0 server to W2k
server. Our clients consist of win98, winxp, and win2k.
Unfortunately, sometimes when we try to browse the
network from a client PC we get an incomplete browse list
(not all of the other clients will appear in the list),
but we are able to map a network drive to their shared
folders as long as we know the client's name. There are
no error messages in the event log. This problem occurs
randomly throughout the day (sometimes we do get a
complete list and other times we don't). This never
happened before the upgrade, and we have installed the
latest service packs. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Matt

sounds like master browser issue. do you have domain or workgroup? use
browstat.exe to troubleshoot it.

we are on a domain...and we've tried using browstat.exe
to troubleshoot....still no luck.....if you want more
detail....we are on a WAN from northwest arkansas and
have 2 offices in oklahoma....when we are having browsing
problems we notice that the only clients we see are those
located in Oklahoma (and sometimes we only see 2 or 3 of
those from Oklahoma) and none from our office in Arkansas
if that helps any?
