Brother MFC

I have a Brother MFC 9600. It scans/faxes/copies and that
sort of thing. I upgrades to XP Pro from windows 2000 and
I can now scan but there is no longer an option to scan
onto legal sized paper. I went to the Brother website to
look for XP Drivers and there was none because they are
embedded into XP. I phoned Brother about this and they
said it was something microsft did. Any solution? Any patch?

Thanks,
Gerald

Hello

To some degree Brother will have to provide updated
drivers since they make the product and not MS, by them
telling you it's a MS issue just gets you into a finger pointing
issue and that does not help you at all.

You could try removing all drivers and software for your
Brother MFC 9600 and re-install them and see if that
makes any change, but the updates will have to come from
Brother an not MS

Gerald;
The tech at Brother was not entirely correct.
Drivers are the responsibility of the hardware manufacturer and not
Microsoft.
A check of their website does not show any Windows XP drivers:
http://www.brother.com/E-ftp/info/mfc/mfc9600.html
However there are Windows 2000 drivers and Windows 2000 drivers often
work in Windows XP.

Sometimes the Windows native drivers work however it is not uncommon
for some functionality to be lost.

You may have to buy new or revert to the older operating system to use
the old hardware that Brother no longer supports.
