Recently bought a new computer which is great. I decided
to go straight onto broadband, but am having troble
getting started. Bought a wanadoo modem package which is
fine, but it won't connect. Can anyone tell me, is it
because I have had no previous internet connection on my
new computer, (i.e. no dial up connection etc).
Someone said the software wanadoo sent should do that for
you, but was then contradicted by someone else saiyng i
may have to go and set up a dial up connection
in "Network Connections" before the broadband connection
will kick in.......please help!

What kind of broadband, cable or DSL? Who is your ISP, and what
specific installation and configuration instructions did they provide
for connecting to their service?

Unless you have already done so, DON'T let the disc autorun. (Wanadoo
will take over your PC, there will be branding etc, all over the place.)
Instead, get the modem driver from it and then configure manually. Open
the CD in Windows Explorer and click on Setup.exe (on my disc, the
seventh from the bottom in the main folder list.)
