Tom

I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled win xp.
Now, whenever I try to access the internet I get a server
not found error. If I use an IP address instead of a www.
address I get right through.
Please help

Tom,

You need to correct your DNS settings on your connection to the internet.
Your ISP likely provided this information to you when you signed up for
their service. If you are unfamilar with how to make this change, please
post back and I'll outline it for you.

Thanks,

Try:

Assuming that you do not have a static IP address, do this:

1. Shutdown the XP machine.

2. Unplug the power supply to your broadband device and wait 2 minutes.

3. Plug in the power supply, wait until it is fully initialized and
indicates a good connection; then restart Windows XP.
