I am working with a document that is 7312 pages long. This
document needs to be broken down into smaller documents
according to the alphabet. I.e. the file name is sahis2003
and needs to be sahis2003 A-B; sahis2003 C-D; sahis2003 E-
F and so on. There is not a good way to know how many
pages are going to be in each file. It is possible
to "find" the beginning of each alphabetic break. Is there
a good way to select the pages once the beginning and end
are found? I know about click-shift click. I know about
paragraph and line select. I know about scrolling select.
I'm looking for a more effecient way to do this. Any
suggestions would be helpful as I have about 15 more of
these monster files to break down.

Assuming each section is "titled" A, B, C, format the A, B, C in a Heading
Style. Then you can use the Browse Object or Outline View to navigate and
manipulate.

Outline view will let you easily move, copy, and word count sections that
are highlighted, e.g. Outline View gives you
A
B
C
Then selecting A selects (and copies, or whatever) all the text underneath
it up to B.

Re Outline View, see here:

May also be useful.

Browse Object: click on the little round button between the double arrows
at the bottom of the scroll bar. Set it to Browse by Heading. Then use the
double arrows to go to the Next Heading or Previous Heading.
