Break data into two columns in subreport

Hello,
Running MS Access 2003 on XP Pro.

I have a report that produces a check list. Now, I have a subset of the
data for this form that I call the Pre-drive Checklist. I want to compress
this section length-of-page wise so I want to break its data out into 2
columns.

All the data displays 4 columns, Action, Description, Frequency, and a check
box. It is already grouped by Category.

I want to display two columns of those 4 fields.

So, if the rest of the page looks like

ACTION DESCRIPTION FREQUENCY Check

I want the PD Checklist to look like this.

Action Desc Freq Check Action Desc Freq Check.

It was suggested I setup a separate subform and place it in the report
header. I can do this no problem but I want to know how to put the data into
two side-by-side columns for the subreport. This way I can drop the
subreport into the header and everything is copasetic.

Thank you,

I seem to recall a column-related property of the Details section that
allowed for "snaking" columns (like newspaper columns).

I have found how to turn the data in to two columns using file > page setup >
columns.

My next question which I may repost separately is "How do I get the header
to repeat at the top of both columns?

Thank you

If it's a header, can you put it in a section above (i.e., higher-up) than
the Detail section?
