brackets around fields appear in printed Word 2007 documents

I have many documents with fields that were created in Word 2003. The
brackets around these fields are now appearing in Word 2007. This did not
happen in 2003.

Is there any fix?

There isn't a "fix" because it isn't a bug -- just a difference in the
option settings.

Every form field is associated with a bookmark that serves as the field's
name. Word is showing you the bookmarks.

Go to Office button > Word Options > Advanced, scroll down to the "Show
document content" section, and uncheck "Show bookmarks".

Jay, that did not work. Is there any way I can send you the document.
Perhaps this is something else....I just don't know what it is. This is a
legal contract that was provided by another source...we just filled in the
code for the fields so that it would autofill in our automated system.

I just checked several other documents that I created using fields, and if
bookmark is unchecked they are fine. It just did not work on this doc.
