Would somebody please tell me what the bracketed [ ] number is to the right
of the Deleted Items Folder. I delete emails all the time, and they go into
the D.I. folder, and these emails do not seem to effect the bracket figure.
For example the number in the brackets now for me is 4, but I easily have
over a 100 emails that have been sent to that folder in the last month - so
that number doesn't seem to reflect the number of emails in the folder. What
is it then?

What color is the number, blue or green?

It could be reset each time that you open outlook. Does it seem to reset
upon opening the program each time? Perhaps you have the option set to
delete everything in that file each time you close the program. When you
open the DI folder, does the # match the amount of emails in there?
