Box Symbol in Name

In several of my spreadsheets I have a named range? where the name is
a box symbol. (An empty square.) I cannot figure out how to delete
this name. Anyone have ideas.

Are you saying that from the Insert/Name/Define box, you can't select this
name and click the Delete button? If so, what happens when you try that?

Get a copy of the newly released 3.2 version of Jan Karel Pieterse's
(with Charles Williams and Matthew Henson) Name Manager

I think Jan Karel posted that his addin will fix those invalid names.

If you want to to it manually, have a list of new names to replace the broken
ones handy.

Then Tools|options|General Tab|Check R1C1 reference style.

When you toggle this setting, you'll be prompted for new names for those invalid
names.

Then change back to A1 reference style when you're done.
