When i first start up my computer and the desktop appears
there are to many icons at the bottom left hand corner. I
don't want to permanently delet them but i would like for
just a few selective icons to be available to me in that
area.. Does anyone know how i can delete these icons just
from that bottom left hand corner on my taskbar without
deleting the programs themselves?

They are just shortcuts to the programs executable file, you will not be
deleting the program by deleting the shortcut.

If by "the bottom left corner," you mean the Quick Launch Bar,
everything there is just a shortcut, and can be deleted with
impunity. Deleting a shortcut to a program does not delete the
program itself.
