My computer has windows XP SP3 and IE7.
May I install IE8 so that both IE7 & 8 can coexist?
If yes, how?

Hi Albert,

If you need it for testing web compatibility, I installed the MS
Expression Web 3 Superpreview for IE. With IE8 installed (that's the
only way it works), you can also view pages in IE6/IE7 and check for
compatibility issues.

The only other way would be to use a VM and install XP with the versions
you require.

Go ahead and try it. Be emphatically stupid.

An emphatically wrong answer...

There is a special browser archive you can download which allows you to
"test" both IE7 and IE8 on a web page, but it was very limited, as I recall.
I tried it once, and it was just too limited, but I guess it was ok to check
and see if a single page is compatible in both versions (but that was about
all it could do). I don't think there is anyway to have both browsers
FULLY installed (i.e, as complete and fully functioning browsers), short of
(possibly) using a Virtual PC.

I gave an example to the OP that allows it. But you can continue
feeling like a know it all.
