Borders that only extend to the width of the text

One of the styles in my document is defined with up/down borders. The borders
seem to always extend to the whole with of the page, so even if the text that
the style is applied to is only a few letters long, the borders go from the
left all the way to the right margin of the page.

Is there any way of having them only extend above&below the width of the text?

I tried defining the style with Style Type = Paragraph, then Character, then
Linked. In the latter two cases, in the Borders dialog, the Apply To
drop-down list has both Text and Parapgrah options, however any combination
of settings has the same results - borders extending for the whole width of
the page.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The Banner Text seems like a cool idea, but is not
applicable in my case because I would like the process to be automatic (as
soon as I apply the style, the borders to appear above and below the text,
and only extend as long as the width of the text), without meddling with EQ
fields. It might be automated with a macro and maybe linked to the style, but
I'm really stepping on uncharted territory there...

As for the paragraph indents, I'm not exactly sure how I could use them to
accomplish this particular objective.

Hi Suzanne, and thanks for your reply. Is there a way for the indents to be
narrowed down to text size automatically, from within the style?
