bootup question

Okay I had this working but now it's not. I want to know how to get rid of
that box that comes up on bootup and shutdown. The one that tells you your
personal settings are being applied, etc. Thanks

If you enable the 'Welcome Screen' you won't get that box. Otherwise, if
you use classic login dialog box, you will get that box and there's not a
lot you can do about it. Enable the 'Welcome Screen' by going to Control
Panel > User Accounts then click upon 'Change the way users log on and off'
and check the box marked 'Use the Welcome screen'
 
Oh I found how to remove it. You had to add this in the registry
DisableStatusMessages
