bootup can't find music

L

Louise

After the installation and de-installation of a sound card (reinstalled
my old one), and some problems with Norton Internest Security, bootup
has begun taking a long time - very long.

A few programs come up and then it's time for the windows welcome. It
takes literally 45 - 60 seconds for the computer to find whatever it
needs to play the music.

Bootup continues after that, albeit slowly loading NAV and NIS, but the
waiting fo the music is really wierd.

I went through the registry and dleted all references to the old card; I
ran defrag etc.

BTW this is Win XP Pro with P4, 3.2, 1024 ram, creative audigy 2ZS etc.

Any ideas?

Louise
