I have vista ultimate and when I turn on the
computer, I get the message
"BOOTMGR is compressed"
I tried running the vista CD recovery, but i still
got the same message, then I did a complete
reinstall and still got the same message.
I have a drive "C' that I did the reinstall on...
and I have a drive"D"...should I run the install on that
also? or what should I be doing?
thanks for your help

What are the attributes of the drive? Is C on a different physical drive
than D? When you re-installed did you delete the partition and re-create
and format it?

HI
C & D are on the same drive and I didnt delete & format anything. I
just ran the vista CD. I think it asked if i wanted to repair or
just install & on which drive to install....I will try again though, that
will help? thanks again!!

I did format and did the reinstall and it seems like it works now just fine!
I didnt even think of the format part....sorry to bother you guys!
but thanks....breezyyb

You're welcome. Nice to hear you have it working. No bother, either.
