Seeing that this is a Vista and not a WinXP problem, your
best bet is to ask the expert in a Vista newsgroup.

If you try booting from the Vista install disk you may be able to repair it.

I had a problem after resizing some partitions on a dual boot system where
Vista wouldn't load, and it was surprisingly quick at fixing the problem.

I had installed Vista last, (and my system was previously working), but I
think it will still detect the Vista installation then give you an option to
fix the boot sector.

The results of installing Vista after XP are *very* much different
from installing XP after Vista. The XP installation makes changes
to accomodate the NT/2K/XP boot loader which don't know
anything about how Vista loads. But when Vista is installed with the
XP OS visible to the installer, the installer will include a kludge to
accomodate the XP boot loader. That "accomodation" is why
Microsoft says to install the newer OS last.
