How do you boot without logging in? TweaUI offers a way, but it doesn't
'stick' until a password is entered. That works for awhile then there is an
error on bootup and eventually the screen locks up and one has to do a
reinstall of Windows XP. There is another method that ivolves launching
"control userpasswords2". But that works exactly once and then becomes
deactivated,

Here's what you need to do. Go to start, run type cmd. Then type format c:
and you should be all set.

I assume that by c: you mean whatever drive WinXP is installed on? I'm
installed on d: so that is what I used. The next question is: is there a CR
between "type cmd" and "Then type format d:" It seems to me that with a CR
"drive d:" will be fomatted.

So I did it without a CR and it didn't work.

I'm not sure what you asking, more detail would help, but PLEASE do not
follow Carch's advice!!
