Booting up windows XP

I need all the help I can get. I am running Win XP on a PIII PC . Every so
often when I boot up my PC, I get a black screen and the following messege
appears

Verifying DMI Pool Data......
Boot from ATAPI CD-Rom: Failure......
Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk and press enter.

I have two hard drives and on my PC. The master is setup in four
partitions(NTSF). I have run the HD diagnostic program and the HD is fine.
Win Xp is setup on my master drive. All my IDE cables are set correctly. I
have also done a Win XP repair using the Win XP CD but this has not done the
fix. My question is how do I fix this problem? Please help. Thank you

This is a matter of the BIOS stage of booting the machine. It looks
as if your hard disk is getting slow to speed up and initialise, so it
is not ready at the time the boot starts. So the boot is going on to
try the CD, and then the floppy. But the HD has finished initialising
when you reset. I would get the hardware checked on that one, but
meanwhile it might be enough to put CD first in the boot order, so it
tries (and fails) every time, giving the HD longer to spin up.
