Bootime CHKDSK looping!

Whenever I set chkdsk to do scan my main drive when it reboots it, scans,
starts another boot then for a flash I see a darker blue screen come up,
then it starts doing a loop of this whole process never loading WinXP Pro
unless I choose last know good config. Is there something I can do to fix
this? I don't know if may be an error with my drive or a glitch XP is
having.

Disable automatic restart on system failure (on SP2): Press F8 on restart,
and see the menu item to disable auto restart. Restart, and when the STOP
message appears, record information needed for further troubleshooting.
