Boot up

Hi
Wonder if someone can advise please.

Windows media centre.
Few months back I purchased a HP Pavillion with media centre installed
and after installing my own programs/software and every
thing was cofigured as I wanted it I backed up C drive with Nortons ghost 9.

I used Nortons ghost 9 on another HP Pavillion XP home computer I have
and re-installed a backup with no problems on that computer.

To re-install ghost backup from my external HD you have to put the Norton
ghost CD in drive on comp, shut down comp, then restart and boot from the
ghost CD by pressing any key when instructed to when booting up.This should
stop Windows loading ,then ghost 9 can re-install the backup from external
HD.

Pressing any key on bootup however does *not* stop Windows from loading as
it
should,Nortons ghost does say at prior to doing the above that I *may* have
to
changed things in Bios setup ??Pressing F1 takes me into the bios setting
pages
which has about 5 pages of settings.
It could be that the DVD rom drive is not set so comp can boot from ghost CD
but I can't see anything obvious to change,so can anyone help/advise please
at what I should be looking for in setup.

HP computer comes with a copy of Media centre on a partition of main HD but
don't really want to re-install from there if I can help it.

Sorry for such a long post
Many thanks
Barry

check the boot up sequence of drives in the BIOS.
the CD should be set as 1st boot...reboot with the Ghost CD in place
Then you should get the message "press any key to boot from CD"
If it still does not function get back to us
