Boot trouble

Eric Casey.

Yours was the right answer! Only problem now, my Boot .INI line reads:
Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)Windows="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition"/noexecute=optin /Fastdetect

How do I change it to just read "Fastdetect"? I assume I need to get rid of
the "noexecute=optin" instruction?

Regards. Dave.

why didn't you stay on your OP?
breaking it up confuses everyone and wastes time and effort.

He said to look for a safe mode switch ( /safeboot )!!
I don't see one here.

did you try to use Enable VGA mode as I suggested?

So should the "Fastdetect" etc. line be the default? What are the other two
lines for?

Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)Windows="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition"/noexecute=optin /Fastdetect

it's default boot.ini file.
leave as is (above)!!

Post to your original thread. If you can't find it use google groups
search. One reason you're having problems with finding it is that
you're using the CDO or web interface. That's lousy. Try using a
newsreader. XP comes with one, Outlook Express, though there are plenty
others. Here is a link on how to set up OE.

same day. same title except for "!"

I don't understand why you're posting to me, or for that matter why you
always use exclamation marks. Doesn't normal emphasis work?
