Boot storage driver slipstreaming on 64-bit XP for extended systems

Pieter

Please direct me to the correct groups if I am off topic.

I have a Shuttle Athlon64 system without a floppy drive.
The system has a Sil3512r SATA RAID controller with 2 x 120GB drives in a
RAID-0 configuration.

I followed the instructions at
http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm
and created a XP Pro SP1 CD with the si3112r driver slipstreamed, works
great.

Following the same technique that worked for i386 XP on x64 XP, substituting
i386 for AMD64, I am having no luck.

I also tried the following without any success:
http://forums.planetamd64.com/viewtopic.php?t=659&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
http://www.collosumus.net/amd64/addhw_1.html
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;288344
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;816299

I also tried using a USB floppy drive. The USB floppy is recognized during
the install sequence, using F6 I can load the driver from the floppy, but
later during the textmode install the install asks fro the floppy again, yet
now the USB floppy seems disconnected.

1) Is the slipstream process for i386 XP and x64 XP supposed to work the
same?
2) Is there a Microsoft web page that details boot driver slipstreaming
(other than KB28834 and KB816299)
3) Why does the USB floppy install ask for the floppy again, and why does
the floppy disconnect?
4) First prize is somebody that has instructions for a working x64 XP
slipsteamed for the si3112r driver.

Any help is appreciated

Pieter
