Boot- Stops Responding

I go to "RUN" type "msconfig"
I get mesage:
System Configuration Utility
! Unable to synchronize the environment variables in the
Windows Registry with the environment variables in the
legacy files AUTOEXEC.BAT and/or CONFIG.SYS.

I do not know what to do.

Which version of msconfig are you using? It isn't supplied with W2K, so you
must have copied it from some other system. The XP version works on W2K. You
can download a copy from http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html
