Boot Sector crash

Ken

Hi,
I had a nasty suprise when I attempted to boot up over the
weekend. It appeared that my boot sector had become
corrupted.

It seems that I have that fixed, and was even able to get
a missing file or two back from the Windows CD, but I now
have a problem where the system is telling me the
following:

missing/corrupt file systemRoot\system32\Config\SECURITY

Any help in restoring this file from anyplace?
Or do I need to reinstall windows to get a good copy of it?

Thanks for any help.

If you have a recent Emergency Repair Disk ("ERD"), you can boot to the
Windows 2000 CD, choose the Repair option, and perform a Fast Repair. See
Knowledge Base article 238359 Differences Between Manual and Fast Repair in
Windows (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=238359) for details.
