Boot Screen Problems with new monitor

You need to adjust the size and placement of the viewing
area directly on the monitor itself. There should be
buttons on the front of the monitor to allow you to do
this. Try checking the manual.

I have done that but it will mess up my desktop settings.
So if i set them for the boot screen then my desktop will
be smaller.

No it won't.

The boot screen is a different resolution from that of your desktop.
If you adjust the size while the boot screen is displayed, your monitor will
remember the new size ONLY for that particular resolution

Also the refresh rate makes a difference. Adjust the screen for the boot
screen size then go into display properties and try different refresh
rates until one fits closer to the right size.
