Boot problem

Finger

When I start my computer, I can hear the fan running but it won't boot
I cannot close the computer with the off button therefore, I mus
disconnect. I must do this 3 or 4 times before I hear the beep and th
normal boot noise. I have a Windows XP Professional. Thank you

Sounds more like hardware - failing drive/controller.
